Partial Variation

If $y$ is the sum of two parts, one part varies inversely as $x$ and the other part varies directly as $x^2$, we have
\begin{equation*}
y=\frac{k_1}{x} + k_2x^2,
\end{equation*}
where $k_1$ and $k_2$ are non-zero constants.
